(Greensboro, N.C.) June 23, 2010 – Algenon Cash, managing director of Wharton Gladden & Company, addressed the class of 2010 at ITT Technical Institute commencement ceremony, held at the Greensboro-High Point Airport Marriott on June 18^th as the honored commencement speaker.

“Over the years I have come to learn that motivation can only come from within,” said Cash to a crowd of graduates, faculty and loved ones.

Cash encouraged the class of 2010 to be their own self motivators through his personal concept of “LOCKING IN.”

“I define the concept of ‘LOCKING IN’ very simply. It all comes down to the power of purpose, having a personal vision, and living a life that is principle-centered,” said Cash.  “The concept of LOCKING IN requires you to focus more on yourself and less on others. My grandfather often reminded me that if you want to change the world you have to start by changing yourself.”

The concept of  being “LOCKED IN” steams from Cash’s belief that society has become obsessed with the quick and easy way to get results, with history showing that nothing great has ever been achieved without someone making a sacrifice. The philosophy behind being “LOCKED IN” is the belief that one is already a huge success in life, but that success requires one to make a sacrifice and “LOCK IN” on one’s own vision.

“Imagine a clear picture in your mind and continue to believe someday “I Will.” We are what we believe! We must visualize our wants, desires, and goals. I have been defeated in many personal struggles over the years, but I always remained “LOCKED IN” and overcame them. Understanding how to “LOCK IN” on your vision is what separates achievers from dreamers,” said Cash.
