Fund Overview
Wharton Gladden & Company wants to help change communities by defining the standard for being an excellent corporate citizen. Our projects often provide communities with jobs, affordable housing, neighborhood shopping and a nice quality of life. However, we exist to do more than earn profits and we fundamentally believe it’s critical that we place “service above self” by investing our time and profits into the communities we serve.
On June 2, 2009, we launched the Power of One Fund in honor of Irene Wharton and Frank Gladden. The Fund was created during a great times of need when charities were experiencing drastic cuts in funding. We recruited a talented group of volunteers to serve on the Operating Committee and they worked tirelessly to serve the community and oversee the inaugural giving campaign. Since 2009, the Fund has collected over 4,000 pounds of food to feed the hungry, raised over $100,000 to support charities, and helped over 300 families to experience the joy of Christmas. We also support non-profits through a vast array of resources, including our community and industry relationships.
Our Mission: To create a Fund that will help change communities by providing non-profits with financial and technical support to enhance programs devoted to promoting education, entrepreneurship and self-empowerment.
The easiest and most simple way to support the Fund is by telling a friend about the amazing things that we are causing to happen in the community, and then encouraging them to join us. Send your friends a link to our website, share our social media pages and invite them to attend Power of One Events where they can learn more about the Fund. You can also host an event at your home, church or at any location that you choose.
