BBQ, Live Music & Kids’ Activities – Free for Triad Families at NC Family Energy Day
(GREENSBORO, NC) April 7, 2014 – Families from throughout the Triad are invited to the NC Family Energy Day for an afternoon of free fun and to learn more about North Carolina’s energy opportunities. The event will be held on Saturday, May 10 from noon – 6:00 p.m. at Corpening Plaza, 231 1st Street in downtown Winston-Salem. Wharton Gladden & Company, a Greensboro-based private boutique investment bank, and the North Carolina Energy Forum are sponsoring the event.
“Families in the Triad are engaged in and connected to their community,” said Algenon Cash, Chairman, NC Energy Forum and Managing Partner, Wharton Gladden & Company. “This event is a celebration of that involvement and allows us the opportunity to give back to them and say thank you for their willingness to stay informed and well-educated on a variety of issues that affect them everyday.”
Activities for the entire family will be available including live music, kids’ activities and inflatables, games and a chance to spin the energy wheel for prizes. Free food will be served, and education areas will be set up so families can learn more about the facts behind North Carolina’s energy discussion.
“This event is all about families in the Triad and offering them a chance to come out, be with their friends and neighbors and learn more about the diverse energy opportunities in North Carolina,” Albert Eckel, Executive Director, NC Energy Forum.
The schedule of events for the day is as follows:
– Noon – 6:00 p.m. – kids’ activities, inflatables and games; snacks and beverages available throughout the event
– Approximately 1:00 p.m. – barbecue and “kid-friendly” foods will be served while they last
– 2:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m. – live music onstage
In addition to the afternoon of activities, attendees are encouraged to bring non-perishable food donations to the event in support of “Stamp Out Hunger,” the nation’s largest one-day food drive. Collection bins will be available on-site, and the NC Energy Forum will ensure that all food donations reach those in need throughout the community.
The NC Family Energy Day is a free event but registration at RSVPenergyevents@gmail.com is requested so plenty of food will be available for all attendees. For more details, visit NCenergyforum.com.
